A Private Party Transfer (PPT) is when a firearm changes ownership between two private individuals in California. All PPT transactions must go through a licensed FFL dealer.
The PPT Process
Both buyer and seller must be present. The seller delivers the firearm to us. We perform a background check on the buyer. After the 10-day waiting period the buyer picks up the firearm.

Background check: $37.19 per person. Per firearm fee: $10. Total: approximately $47.19.
