Fixed Magazine Requirement
In California semi-automatic centerfire rifles that accept detachable magazines are classified as assault weapons unless they are featureless. A fixed magazine rifle requires disassembling the action to remove the magazine.
Featureless Configuration
A featureless rifle has none of these: pistol grip, thumbhole stock, folding or telescoping stock, grenade launcher, flash suppressor, or forward pistol grip.
